FoVGC “Notification of Concern” sent to the STGB Country Club Board
The FoVGC sent a letter to the Country Club as a considered reaction to the CC President’s message of 14 Feb (via flyer, email and social media). The Notification reminded the CC Board of their obligations under the amalgamation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and asked questions of the Board. The letter also requested a meeting to discuss positive ways for FoVGC to engage with the CC.
A defensive email from the President was received that did not address questions but instead labelled the concerns “arrogant assertions”, members on Facebook as ”keyboard protagonists”, and FoVGC were told to “take an MOU reality check”. No formal response has been received however an offer by the President to meet with FoVGC was accepted.
In his message, the President had called FoVGC a small group of disgruntled members yet the Facebook Group already had over 300 members at that point. The President’s message resulted in a surge of new members joining the Facebook group.
It is hoped that FoVGC can find a positive way to engage with the CC Board.
