SGBCC Board unanimously votes to open Vincentia (1 January 2025) and pursue de-amalgamation

FoVGC are pleased that the Board of St Georges Basin Country Club (SGBCC) has unanimously voted to open the Vincentia golf course on the 1st of January 2025 and pursue a de-amalgamation.

In the official email announcement The Future of The Country Club Vincentia (dated 20 Dec 2024), President Proudfoot stated that, "The Board has voted to pursue a de-amalgamation for The Country Club Vincentia. This decision allows our members the opportunity to have their say on the proposal, with a vote anticipated to take place in early 2025... We encourage all members to stay informed and engaged as we approach this pivotal moment. Further details about the proposal and the voting process will be communicated in due course."

To assist with this process, FoVGC have agreed to step back from a number of current actions that were aimed at turning the situation around. We want to ensure the de-amalgamation process proceeds as smoothly as possible and as quickly as practicable.

The FoVGC Facebook group will shift from debate about what has been happening to sharing ideas and possible outcomes re Vincentia Golf Club’s future.

FoVGC also understands this will not be a quick process, will take significant efforts from those directly involved, and will also require the community to come together. And this has been hampered by the festive season where a number of associated and regulatory bodies have closed down for this period.

Any information on the progress and steps involved will be shared on the FOVGC Facebook Group and on our website as soon as information is made available.

Thank you for your support over the year and particularly over the past 18 weeks while the Vincentia Golf Club and course have been closed.
