As a result of the majority NO vote at Sunday’s EGM, the Board and Management of the Country Club officially closed Vincentia Golf Club’s clubhouse and golf course from Tuesday 27 August 2024.
An email announcement was sent to members on Monday 26 August at 3.15pm with subject line “Closure of The Country Club Vincentia With No Other Viable Way Forward”.
CC members and the broader community were shocked to hear that asset stripping at the Vincentia Golf Club precinct commenced on Monday a few hours before the announcement to close was made public.

This news has spread through the community and media, including 2ST Radio Vincentia Golf Club shut down and ABC Illawarra.
At this point in time the The Country Club - Vincentia Facebook page is still live and we note there are over 100 comments made by community members on The Country Club - St Georges Basin Facebook page about the closure of VGC.
